Air Pollution

Air pollution killed about 116,000 infants in India in 2019 within the first month of being born, found a new global study into air pollution’s burden on health worldwide.

1.67 million Indians died due to air pollution in 2019.This is a direct implication of climate change. We need to clean the air around us and stop putting carbon into the atmosphere.

We at thenumber13initiative call out Indian politicians and lawmakers to take action.

According to Article 21: “Protection of Life and Personal Liberty: No person shall be deprived of his life or personal liberty except according to procedure established by law.” Death due to air pollution is a clear violation of article 21.

India needs to act before it is too late.
